Fmoc-Tyr(tBu)-OH is the commonly utilized tyrosine derivative in peptide synthesis with Fmoc amino acids.  A tyrosine residue may be added to the N-terminal of peptides for subsequent labeling with radioactive iodine for use with antibodies.  Tyrosine residues in a number of enzymes are involved in redox catalysis.  Examples include photosystem II, cytochrome c oxidase, fatty acid oxygenase, and prostaglandin synthase.  Biologically, phosphotyrosine and 3-nitrotyrosine residues play important regulatory roles.  AAPPTec offers Fmoc-tyrosine, Fmoc-phosphotyrosine and Fmoc-nitrotyrosine derivates for solid phase peptide synthesis.
