Model 400 Description
The Model 400 is the optimum synthesizer for preparing mini-pilot plant quantities of peptides, nucleic acids or organic compounds. It utilizes standard Boc or Fmoc protocols, while letting users develop their own custom protocols for optimizing product purity and synthesis yield. Reagents and amino acids are accurately and precisely dispensed through separate measuring vessels equipped with adjustable liquid sensors.
The amino acids are preactivated in a preactivation vessel before transfer to the reaction vessel; this eliminates side reactions between the resin-peptide and coupling reagents and produces a purer peptide product. Thorough, efficient mixing in the reaction vessel is obtained by gentle orbital shaking, nitrogen bubbling or a combination of both. Specialized fluid circuitry allows for a near-zero dead volume and eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination. These methods of mixing keep the resin intact without damage to the resin beads.
The Model 400 is available in multiple configurations from scales of 100 grams to 2 kilograms of resin product. aapptec will also custom build the Model 400 to your specifications.
